FAQ - CALL THE DONKEY

  • Why does the DONKEY carry most loads?

The DONKEYS do not need a counterweight because they are driven underneath - they are small and light. This makes the batteries smaller, the charging intervals shorter and the entire system more economical.
  • Why does CALL THE DONKEY ride on Mecanum wheels?

Humans have no problems with manoeuvring vehicles. Computers have more difficulty. Especially when they have to park precisely in a wide variety of situations. Omnidirectional vehicles with Mecanum wheels are the only true omnidirectional systems. The vehicle turns and moves at will at any time. This means that any movement situation, no matter how unusual, can be easily realised. DONKEYS save traffic space and approach transfer stations in the tightest conditions.
  • Why are the batteries situated in the load modules?

The latest Li-ion batteries can be charged quickly and allow short downtimes. Even better, however, are no downtimes: That is why the DONKEY relies on exchangeable batteries. In the load module, the exchangeable batteries have the ideal place. This is how the DONKEY can change load module and batteries with its lift system.
  • How do the master computer and the driverless transport vehicle communicate?

CALL THE DONKEY works with an industrial WLAN. Optionally in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network.
  • The listed load modules do not fit the transport task?

We are happy to develop customised load modules for your application. If we can use this load module in further applications, we can even offset the development costs against your orders.
